"Protecting citizens, especially our most vulnerable, is a basic requirement of government at every level. After having spoken with town supervisors and local law enforcement extensively, I share their concerns that placing level 2 and 3 sex offenders in state operated residential group homes jeopardizes the quality of life for West Seneca, Scottsville and other western New York residents, and the safety of area children, while violating the spirit of New York’s sex offender notification laws, if not their letter."
"I will continue to work with local officals and partners in state government to improve municipal notification requirements for sex offender relocation in New York, and reexamine the State’s sex offender location statutes to ensure they are meeting their intended goal of protecting our most innocent citizens."
