More Than 500 Access Free Health Checks, Tips and Tools at Ritchie's “Senior Health and Wellness Fair”

More than 500 seniors packed the Fulton Ice Arena Wednesday for State Senator Patty Ritchie’s annual “Senior Health and Wellness Fair.”
The event featured more than 50 local organizations and businesses offering health screenings, tips and tools for seniors looking to improve their well-being and stay active. Other highlights of the event included a free lunch prepared by culinary students from Oswego County CiTi, as well as entertainment by “Anybody’s Guess.”
“Today I was once again thrilled to connect more than 500 Central New Yorkers with organizations and businesses who can make a difference in their lives by helping to improve their health.”
“I would like to thank everyone who made this event such a success, including the many vendors who attend year after year, the students from Oswego County CiTi for the great lunch, “Anybody’s Guess,” who provided top-notch entertainment and Oswego County Opportunities for providing much-needed transportation to and from the event for our area’s seniors.”
At the event, Senator Ritchie also honored Peg McKinstry, Carole Sponable and Carol Vescio with her “Senior Volunteer” award in recognition of their work to improve the Central New York region.
Senator Ritchie’s Oswego County Senior Health and Wellness Fair was the first of three she will be hosting in the region. Her Jefferson County event will take place on October 1st at the Bruce Wright Memorial Conference Center located at 1291 Faichney Drive in Watertown, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.. On October 15th her St. Lawrence County Senior Health and Wellness Fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Ogdensburg Odd Fellows, located at 1111 Linden Street.
