State Senator Patty Ritchie has announced she has secured $50,000 in special funding to improve transportation in the Town of Theresa by repairing a culvert that sits under a road in the municipality.
“Ensuring that our local communities have safe and reliable infrastructure—particularly when it comes to our roadways—is a top priority for me,” said Senator Ritchie. “I’m pleased to provide this funding, which will help the Town of Theresa not only upgrade its transportation network, but also improve safety for local residents.”
According to Town officials, funding will be used to repair a culvert under the Countryman Road, which is frequently used by school buses.
“Here in the Town of Theresa, it’s our top goal to improve the quality of life for those who live here,” said Town Supervisor Steve Marcinkowski. “We cannot thank Senator Ritchie enough for her assistance, which will be truly invaluable in getting this critical project off the ground and creating a safer transportation network for people in Theresa.”
This recent funding helps to continue Senator Ritchie’s efforts to improve infrastructure in the Town of Theresa. This year, the Town received more than $112,000 in CHIPS (Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program) funding, as well as more than $13,000 in extra aid to help its highway department, which along with other highway departments across the state, had its budget affected by this past winter’s severe weather.
