State Senator Patty Ritchie joined firefighters, community members and local leaders recently for the grand opening of the new St. Lawrence County Fire Training Facility.
The new, state-of-the-art structure was made possible in part by $100,000 in special state funding secured by Senator Ritchie and her colleagues Senators Joe Griffo and Betty Little.
As a result of the new facility, the more than 40 volunteer fire departments across St. Lawrence County, as well as the 2,000 volunteer firefighters serving the community won’t have to travel to access to top of the line training opportunities.
