State Senator Patty Ritchie welcomed cadets from the United States Military Academy at West Point to the Capitol Wednesday as part of the annual “West Point Day.”  Two cadets from Jefferson County were included in the group; Nicholas Tyler of Adams, and Brandon Lloyd of Watertown.

“I’m truly humbled not only to represent Fort Drum and the 10th Mountain Division, but also, these two young cadets from Jefferson County who are proving their dedication to their country at West Point,” said Senator Ritchie.

“I’d like to thank these young men, as well as all the other men and women who serve our nation for their selflessness and for their tremendous sacrifices.”

Wednesday’s recognition of West Point cadets represents Senator Ritchie’s most recent honoring of those who serve.  Recently, she hosted 10th Mountain Division and Fort Drum Day, a special event held at the Capitol to commend our troops for their service and contributions to our region.
