Senator Rev Ruben Diaz and New York Hispanic Clergy Organization to Hold Prayer Rally for Justice
On Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 9:00AM, New York State Senator Rev Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) and the New York Hispanic Clergy Organization will join Civil Rights Attorney Sanford Rubenstein outside the Bronx Criminal Court Building located at 265 E 161st Street (between Morris and Sherman Avenues) for a Prayer Rally for Justice for the victim and family of an incompetent 64-year old woman who was sexually assaulted in a Bronx nursing home by an employee. The defendant, 42-year old Nanic Aidasani, LPN, who has been accused of raping the nursing home resident, has been summoned to appear in Court.
Senator Diaz stated: "As the Ranking Member of the New York State Senate Committee on the Aging, it breaks my heart that we are unable to trust that all of our licensed nursing homes and care facilities are safe havens for our beloved family members. We expect that in their care, our loved ones will be protected - not assaulted. My thoughts and prayers remain with the victim and her family, and I will continue to stand by their side as they pursue legal justice."
