Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) and the New York Hispanic Clergy Organization will hold a prayer vigil on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 9AM at the Bronx Hall of Justice located at 265 East 161st Street in the Bronx, where criminal defendant Nanic Aidasani will appear in Court. Criminal charges of second-degree rape have been brought against Mr. Aidasani, a licensed practicing nurse who worked at the Manhattanville Rehabilitation & HealthCare Center in Riverdale. The victim is an elderly woman who suffers from dementia.
Senator Diaz, the ranking member on the New York Senate’s Committee on Aging, stated: “My ministers and I will continue to offer our prayers and support for Ms. Loida Rivera’s mother, and for all victims of abuse who are unable to protect themselves and speak for themselves. We will raise our voices in prayer that the Bronx District Attorney will succeed in this case and that justice will be served.”
High profile attorney, Sanford Rubenstein will be attending the vigil as the rape victim’s attorney.
