SENATOR GIPSON TO VOTE 'NO' ON REINSTATING INCUMBENT REGENTS DUE TO FAILED COMMON CORE IMPLEMENTATION
ALBANY, NY -- New York State Senator Terry Gipson (D-Dutchess, Putnam) issued the following statement announcing that he will vote "NO" on reinstating all incumbent Department of Education Regents:
"I will not be voting to reinstate the incumbent Regents because students, parents, educators and taxpayers deserve to have accountability in their state government, and it is obvious that the implementation of the Common Core Curriculum has been a failure.
"As an Albany outsider, I refuse to sit back and simply vote for the status quo on an issue that is so important to our children's education and future."
