SENATOR GIPSON’S STATEMENT ON GOV. CUOMO SIGNING BILL TO MEMORIALIZE BRIDGE IN PUTNAM VALLEY IN HONOR OF DISABLED VETERANS
PUTNAM VALLEY, NY – New York State Senator Terry Gipson (D-Dutchess, Putnam) issued the following statement on Governor Andrew Cuomo signing legislation A8224A/S5974A, sponsored by Senator Greg Ball and Assemblymember Sandy Galef. Senator Gipson was a co-sponsor of the bill. The legislation designates the bridge on Bryant Pond Road crossing the Taconic State Parkway in Putnam Valley as the "Disabled American Veterans Memorial Bridge.”
“I commend Governor Cuomo for signing this bill as we are about to celebrate our nation’s independence. I especially commend the work of Senator Ball and Assemblymember Galef as the sponsors of this meaningful legislation.
“This bridge will not just be an important and special recognition for Putnam’s disabled Veterans, but also those brave men and women across the Hudson Valley and New York State.”
