Avella to Join Protest Rally in Front of Consulate General of Ukraine

Senator will join Ukrainian American Organizations in protesting the ongoing crisis in Kiev as death toll continues to rise
(BAYSIDE, Queens) Sunday, February 23rd, Senator Tony Avella will join the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA) NY Office, Organization for the Defense of 4 Freedoms, and the Confederation of Ukrainian Students Organizations of America to protest the recent outbreak in violence between the government and the general public in Ukraine.
As many Ukrainian nationals and concerned American citizens keep a very close eye on the media coverage of the protests, the Ukrainian American community have organized this rally in hopes of helping the country’s victims. Senator Avella is honored to join the rally and bring further attention to the escalating conflict.
The rally will start by commemorating individuals that were killed in the mass protests in Ukraine’s capital, Kiev, and will proceed to call on the President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, to resign.
The rally will begin at 2 PM in front of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Manhattan.
