Statement by Sen. Tony Avella on Queens Library Board's Removal of Thomas Galante
December 18, 2014
On Wednesday, December 17th, the Queens Public Library's Board of Trustees voted to remove Director Thomas Galante after an extensive review of expense and credit card abuses.
“As the first elected official to call for the removal of Thomas Galante, and having brokered the passage of the Aubry bill in the State Senate, I am glad to see that the Queens Library can finally place this shameful period behind it. The Board’s actions yesterday have gone a long way towards making Queens residents once again proud of their library,” said Senator Avella.
