Senator Bill Larkin and the Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center to Offer Overdose Prevention Training

Free Program is Open to the Public

Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) and The Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center have teamed up to offer an overdose prevention training seminar.  The event is open to the public and free of charge.  You must be 18 years old to attend.

Learn what to do in case of an overdose and how to administer the life-saving, overdose-reversal agent called Narcan (Naloxone).  Narcan is the antidote to an opioid overdose and you can get your kit free at the training session. 

The training will take place on Friday, September 19, 2014 in the Mackintosh Community Room located at The Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center’s Newburgh location at 147 Lake Street between 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. 

“This training will save lives,” said Senator Larkin.  “It will teach you to recognize the warning signs of an overdose and train you in the administration of Narcan in the event a family member, friend or loved one has overdosed.”
