Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) said: “Today, I voted no on all four of the Regents brought before us by the Assembly. With the overwhelming concerns that have been raised with regard to the Common Core roll-out and its impact on students, parents, teachers and school districts, I felt it was necessary to send a message to the Board of Regents that things have to change and there needs to be more accountability when programs of this magnitude are introduced in our schools. I hope the Board of Regents takes these votes seriously and begins to be more receptive to the needs of not only our students but everyone concerned about education in New York State.”
