Senator Espaillat: Tenants Subjected to More Uncertainty as Senate Republicans Introduce Another Bad, One-House Rent Bill
"As tenants grow more anxious, the Senate Republican Majority has introduced another bad, one-house bill that doesn't do enough to protect tenants. We need progress not posturing to truly strengthen rent laws, so working New Yorkers have a home in our city."
Background:
The Senate Republican conference introduced the third rent law bill in the last week (S.6009). The bill would be in effect for six years and would only raise the high rent vacancy decontrol threshold by $100.
