Albany - Today, State Senator Brad Hoylman (D-Manhattan) was appointed to be the ranking Democratic member on the Senate Environmental Conservation Committee for the 2015 Legislative Session. Hoylman represents New York’s 27th Senate District, which includes Greenwich Village, Chelsea, Hell's Kitchen/Clinton, the Upper West Side, Midtown, Columbus Circle, Times Square and the East Village.

Senator Brad Hoylman said: “I’m extremely honored to have been appointed by Leader Stewart-Cousins to be the ranking member of the Environmental Conservation Committee. I look forward to working with my colleagues, constituents and the incredible environmental advocacy community on developing strategies to help preserve New York's environment for future generations. There are critical issues at stake including combating climate change, encouraging alternative energy and sustainable growth practices, protecting our waterways, saving endangered species and banning the transport and storage of hydrofracking waste in New York State. I'm very eager to dive deeper into these important matters in the months and years ahead.”

Hoylman was also appointed as the ranking member on the Committee on Investigations and Government Operations, and as a member of the Judiciary; Health; Cultural Affairs and Tourism; Aging; and Local Government committees.
