Statement from Senator Catharine Young (R,C,I – Olean) regarding State Environmental Protection Fund grant:
“Today’s announcement that the Town of Sparta will receive a $25,000 grant to develop a plan to protect local farmland is great news for the future of agriculture in Livingston County. Having grown up on a third-generation dairy and crops farm in Livingston County I know firsthand the vital role farming plays in our community’s heritage. Protecting the local farmland to ensure it remains productive for generations to come will be instrumental in preserving the family farm as a way of life.”
