“Our military men and women sacrifice so much on our behalf, and this program is a great way we can give back to them, and say ‘thank you’ to those who serve our nation,” said Senator Catharine Young. “The holiday season can be an especially difficult time for members of our armed forces, and I am honored to partner with AT&T, the Blue Star Mothers of New York and Cell Phones for Soldiers. With many people receiving new or upgraded mobile devices and tables, this is a great opportunity to recycle an old or unneeded device and put it toward a good cause.”
To prepare your mobile device for donation here are some tips on how to erase all personal information and protect your privacy:
- Remove your phone's SIM card.
- Erase your address book, photos, messages and other stored information.
- Restore the default factory settings on your device.
- For instructions, see your owner's manual or the manufacturer’s web site.
