Sen. Valesky dropped off 30 bags of donated coats, hats, scarves, and gloves at InterFaith Works in Syracuse on Dec. 15, 2015. The items were donated by area residents for newly arrived refugees, who often come from warmer climates that do not have the harsh winters typical in Central New York. InterFaith Works expects several large families from Congo and Somalia to arrive in Syracuse this week.
