Amedore Bill to Honor Fallen Capital Region Soldier Signed Into Law by Governor Cuomo

Today, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo signed into law a bill (S.2290), sponsored by Senator George Amedore, that would designate a portion of State Route 146 in the town of Guilderland as the “Lieutenant Colonel Todd J. Clark Memorial Highway.”
“Each day our service men and women risk their lives, so their loved ones at home may enjoy our nation’s freedoms,” said Senator Amedore. “Lieutenant Colonel Clark served our nation courageously, ultimately sacrificing his life on behalf of all of us.”
Lieutenant Colonel Todd J. Clark, 40, of Guilderland, died June 8th, 2013 in Afghanistan, while serving as a Senior Advisor to the Afghan National Army. Lt. Col. Clark was a decorated soldier serving in both Iraq and Afghanistan. In his five overseas combat deployments, Lt. Col. Clark carried himself with honor and distinction, earning numerous commendations including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
“Lieutenant Colonel Todd J. Clark leaves behind a legacy of dedication and commitment to his nation and community,” said Senator Amedore. “Renaming this highway in his home town allows us to pay a small tribute to a man who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation he loved.”
