State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) notes that Saturday, June 6th, is National Trails Day.
"This day is meant to promote public awareness and appreciation for our great outdoors and the trails that guide us through it," Senator Farley said.
Many events are being held in the 49th Senatorial District, including an organized hike with Gary Lee in Inlet; a festival in Northville at the trailhead (Waterfront Park) of the Northville-Lake Placid Trail; and the Clifton Park Trails Day Bicycle Ride that starts in Rexford. It should also be remembered that June 6th is the 71st anniversary of D-Day, one of the pivotal events of World War II, when Allied forces landed on the Normandy beaches of France. It is appropriate to take a moment to remember the dedication and sacrifices of our Armed Forces.
