Senator Farley Salutes Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School District

Senator Farley said this weekend congratulations to Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School District for its 100th anniversary. It was his pleasure to obtain a NYS Senate resolution honoring such a great organization.
The resolution:
LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District to be celebrated on September 22, 2015
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and commend those institutions of true purpose and high achievement whose exemplary programs and accomplishments clearly demonstrate an enduring pursuit of excellence in the education of the youth of this noble Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District to be celebrated on Tuesday, September 22, 2015; and
WHEREAS, The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District, after a century of service to its community, continues to create an educational environment which ensures opportunities for learning, personal growth and social responsibility; and
WHEREAS, Established in 1915, the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Union Free School District, as it was formerly known, was formed when three one-room schools joined, becoming New York State's first consolidated school district; and
WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District has grown from one school district with 36 students, to a five-school district serving more than 3,000 students with an average graduating class of 270, boasting a 97 percent graduation rate; and
WHEREAS, The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District serves the towns of Ballston, Charleston, Clifton Park and Glenville; and
WHEREAS, Today, this vital institution has clinched 21 State Championships in athletics, along with numerous regional academic awards; a renovations project is also currently underway coined, "Building our Second Generation;" and
WHEREAS, The steadfast and unyielding commitment of parents, educators and administrators to provide the highest quality education for students has become the hallmark and tradition of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Within the 21st Century, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District stands prepared to reach out, in an earnest and enthusiastic quest of its mission, to promote the maximum growth of every student, establishing standards and building skills which will carry its students and the citizens of its community into the future; and
WHEREAS, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is proudly aware of its distinguished past, eager to fulfill its present commitment to parents, students and the community, and planning with vision and purpose for the ebb and swell of growth and change it will encounter in the years to come; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District.
