Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) announced that he has secured state funding for new technology at the Port Washington Library.
The library will use the $25,000 in state funding to enhance customer services. The Library plans on redesigning the lobby to provide self-check technology to make it easier and quicker for patrons to check out materials. Additionally, the Library will provide a touch screen directory and map for easier access to its changing collections.
“The Port Washington Library is a wonderful and invaluable resource for local residents. Investing in this new technology will help the Port Washington Library enhance its services for the residents it serves. I am pleased to support the Library’s efforts,” said Senator Martins.
“This funding will enhance our patrons' experience with user-friendly technology, comfortable seating and display. Senator Martins’ support for libraries is outstanding and we thank him for recognizing the importance of our work in the community,” said Port Washington Library Director Nancy Curtin.
