Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) recently visited Denton Avenue School in New Hyde Park to congratulate 5th grade student Lamiya Rangwala on being chosen as a first place winner in the Senate’s Earth Day Poster Contest.
Lamiya’s entry focused on the importance of “reducing, reusing, and recycling” in order to protect the environment. As a first place winner, Lamiya’s poster was displayed in the State Legislative Office Building in Albany along with those of the other winners from across the state.
