Senator Martins Invites Families to Participate in His Summer Reading Program

     Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) is inviting local families to participate in his annual summer reading program. The program helps promote literacy and encourages children to continue reading during the summer months.

     “This program helps children continue to build their reading skills during the summer months in a fun and enjoyable way. When children get excited about reading and using their imaginations, they’ll develop a love for it that will benefit them throughout their lives. I invite all families to participate,” said Senator Martins.

     Senator Martins’ summer reading program is open to all elementary school students in his Senate district. To complete the program, participants must read at least three books and write a brief description of them in a summer reading journal. Once children fill out their journal and have it signed by a parent, they can send it back to Senator Martins’ office to receive an official New York State Senate certificate.
