Senator Martins Joins Manhasset Library in Honoring Hometown Heroes Who Served Our Nation

    Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) recently joined with the Manhasset Library in unveiling a new tribute to the hometown heroes who served our nation.

    The Library’s new “For Those Who Served” exhibit showcases some of the Manhasset residents who answered the call of duty as members of the American armed forces. It contains photos, letters, and artifacts spanning decades from local veterans and their families.  The Library will seek to build on the exhibit in the future with additional information about local veterans.  Senator Martins secured state funding to help the Library create and maintain the community history project.

    “This is an incredible exhibit which shows the many ways that Manhasset residents served our country and defended our freedom.  Personalizing the service and sacrifice of some of Manhasset’s hometown heroes is a unique way to ensure that our community always remembers what all of its veterans did to protect it.  Congratulations to the Manhasset Library on a wonderful and educational community history project,” said Senator Martins.
