Senator Martins, Manhasset Casa, and Nassau Police Help Residents “Shed the Meds”

Approximately 500 Pounds of Medications Collected For Safe Disposal

     Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) recently partnered with the Manhasset Community Coalition Against Substance Abuse (CASA) and the Nassau County Police Department to hold a Shed the Meds program where residents could safely dispose of their old, unwanted medications.  The program was held at Shelter Rock School in Manhasset.

     Approximately 500 pounds of medications were collected for safe disposal by the Nassau County Police Department.

     “It was wonderful to see so many residents take advantage of this program. Through their efforts, we were able to keep hundreds of pounds of medications away from the wrong hands, off the streets, and out of the waterways. Thanks to everyone who participated, as well as the Nassau County Police Department and Manhasset CASA for partnering with me to provide this service,” said Senator Martins.
