July 13, 2015

Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) announced that the New York State Senate recently passed legislative resolutions he sponsored honoring two New Hyde Park residents for attaining the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.

The legislative resolutions honored Giovanni Castelli and Nicolas Castelli of Troop 544 for earning Scouting’s highest honor. With passage of the legislative resolutions, Giovanni and Nicolas’ achievements will forever be part of the official record of the New York State Senate.

“Becoming an Eagle Scout is an extraordinary honor with extraordinary requirements; only 4 percent of boy scouts ever earn the right to be called Eagle Scouts. Giovanni and Nicolas spent years working to meet the rigorous standards needed to attain Boy Scouts’ highest rank, and they have now earned a place among scouting’s most elite. I’m pleased that the Senate honored these two young community leaders and their accomplishments through passage of these resolutions. Congratulations to both of them,” said Senator Martins.
