Senator Jack M. Martins (R-Mineola) announced that the New York State Senate recently passed legislative resolutions he sponsored honoring four Port Washington residents for attaining the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.
The legislative resolutions honored Vincent Deriu (Troop 7), Bryan Johns (Troop 7), Justin May (Troop 241), and Nicholas Moy (Troop 241) for earning Scouting’s highest honor. With passage of the legislative resolutions, Vincent, Bryan, Justin, and Nicholas’ achievements will forever be part of the official record of the New York State Senate.
“Becoming an Eagle Scout is an extraordinary honor that only 4 percent of boy scouts ever earn. Vincent, Bryan, Justin, and Nicholas spent years working to meet the requirements and rigorous standards needed to attain Boy Scouts’ highest rank, and they have now earned a place among scouting’s most elite. It’s fitting that the Senate passed legislative resolutions recognizing these four young community leaders and their accomplishments. Congratulations to each of them,” said Senator Martins.
