Senator Jack Martins (R-7th Senate District), in conjunction with the Port Washington Police District and the Nassau County Traffic Safety Board, will be sponsoring a free child safety seat check for families. The program will take place on Saturday, May 30th from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm at Atlantic Hook & Ladder Company (25 Carlton Avenue, Port Washington).
Trained officials from the Port Washington Police District and Nassau County Traffic Safety Board will perform free safety inspections to ensure that drivers have their child safety seats properly installed and secured. Child safety seats can reduce the threat of injury or death by as much as 65 percent, but only if they are installed properly, according to the Nassau County Traffic Safety Board.
Appointments are recommended and will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis. To make an appointment for a free child safety seat inspection, please call Senator Martins’ office at 516-746-5924.
