Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) announced that the New York State Senate recently honored New Cassel resident Helen Bonner upon the occasion of her 100th birthday.
The New York State Senate passed a legislative resolution, which Senator Martins sponsored, congratulating Ms. Bonner on reaching the milestone. With passage of the legislative resolution, Ms. Bonner will forever be part of the New York State Senate’s official record.
Ms. Bonner moved to New Cassel in 1957 with her husband, George and daughter, Sharon. During her time in the community, she has worked as an inspector for Designs Power in Westbury, been a longtime parishioner of Bethel AME Church, and an active member of the Westbury Senior Center.
“Celebrating your 100th birthday is an incredible milestone. Passing this legislative resolution is the Senate’s special way of recognizing Mrs. Bonner and wishing her a very happy birthday,” said Senator Martins.
