State Senator James Sanders Jr. (D-Rochdale Village) marched in the 2nd Annual Christmas Parade held by Hope NYC Church on Sunday evening in South Ozone Park. The festivities included plenty of holiday singing and dancing along with a procession of Christmas-themed floats, which also incorporated the symbols of different nationalities and cultures. The event culminated with a Christmas tree lighting outside Hope NYC Church, located at 142-82 Rockaway Boulevard.
"It was a great joy to see so many members of the community lining the parade route and getting into the Christmas spirit, singing along with the holiday music and waving at the floats as the parade went by," Senator Sanders said. "I applaud Hope NYC for putting together this wonderful event, and I look forward to participating again next year."
