Sanders Hosts Third in a Series of Job Fairs Aimed at Bringing Employment Opportunities to the District

Dozens of young people who were eager to work and interested in learning about the variety of careers available to them, sought employment at a Youth Job & Training Fair hosted by State Senator James Sanders Jr. (D-Rochdale Village) held on Wednesday, November 18th at P.S. 195 in Rosedale.
The event, which targeted youth ages 17-26, was the third in a series of job fairs held by Senator Sanders in the last two months, each aimed at a particular group. A veterans job fair was held on October 15th, and another for the general public was held on October 20th.
"We have many, very talented young people living in this district, who would be an asset to any company if given the opportunity," Sanders said. "Today, we have continued our efforts to bring jobs directly to the people, outreach that will continue in the coming months."
Companies featured at the event included: Walmart, NYS Department of Labor, Brooklyn Workforce Innovations, U.S. Army, FDNY, Electric Tech One, 100 Suits for 100 Men, New York Life Insurance Company, NYC Department of Education; Adult Education, Civilian Complaint Review Board, Pa-Nash, Workforce 1, Council for Airport Opportunities, United States Postal Service, U.S. Marine Corp, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy,
City University of New York; Accelerated Study in Associate programs (ASAP), Henry Street Settlement, NYS Department of Civil Service, Queens Law Associates, Reddtrow Dynamic Family Services (RDFS), 16 Things Kids Can Do, Nontraditional Employment for Women (NEW) and NYC Department of Youth and Community Development.
