State Senator James Sanders Jr., who is a big proponent of educating and motivating youth, was proud to co-sponsor a Teen Job Fair and Career Expo in Rockaway on April 17 where attendees received tips on resume writing and dressing for success as well as the chance to meet with various companies who were looking to hire new staffers.
Recruiters from a wide array of fields were on hand, including representatives from the Army, NYPD, United States Postal Service, Catholic Charities, Workforce 1, Partnerships for Parks, Supreme Academy Security, the Council for Airport Opportunities and Neighborhood Housing Services of Jamaica Inc.
The event was co-sponsored by the Beach 41st Cornerstone Community Center, which is where the expo was held, and by the Child Center of New York.
