SENATOR JEFF KLEIN & FLEETWOOD NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION LIGHT TREE AT SECOND ANNUAL CELEBRATION IN MOUNT VERNON

BRONX, NY – State Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester), in partnership with the Fleetwood Neighborhood Association, hosted the second annual tree lighting at Fleetwood Playground on Sunday. Community leaders, business owners and families enjoyed  hot cocoa, holiday treats, live holiday music, and an appearance by a very special guest.

“I am thrilled to host this annual tree lighting, which has become a tradition for our families in Fleetwood.  At this joyous time, we create holiday lasting memories as we enjoy these festivities.  As 2015 draws to a close, I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday, and a new year filled with good health and prosperity,” said Senator Jeff Klein.

The tree lighting began in the late afternoon with live music from singer Jeanne Ricks and guitarist Chan Johnson as well as caroling by St. Peter and Paul Children’s Choir.  The event featured a seven-foot tall Christmas tree and a special appearance by Santa.  

“Our residents look forward to our annual tree lighting, where we can celebrate the season with friends, family and the entire community,” said Michael Justino, President of the Fleetwood Neighborhood Association. “A special thanks to Senator Jeff Klein for helping  us to put together this tree lighting for Fleetwood.”
