Klein Pays Tribute to Fallen Soldiers at Memorial Day Services Across the Bronx & Westchester
BRONX, NY - State Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester), together with hundreds of active military members, local American heroes, families and children, paid tribute to the profound sacrifices of U.S. servicemen and women on Memorial Day. Senator Klein attended commemorative parades across the Bronx and Westchester and laid wreaths for fallen soldiers at Bicentennial Veterans Memorial Park.
Senator Klein said: “For our distinguished men and women in uniform who have proudly served this country, the American people owe you a great debt of gratitude. Military service members -- both past and present -- represent the backbone of this country and are a reflection of America’s rich history, diversity and unyielding commitment to freedom and democracy. I commend our servicemen and women for their extraordinary sacrifices and I am proud stand with the residents of the 34th Senate District to honor our fallen heroes, veterans and active military members.”
This Memorial Day Weekend, Senator Klein attended the Silver Beach Memorial Day Ceremony and visited the Edgewater Park Volunteer Hose Company No. 1 Memorial Day Parade.
Klein also attended the Bicentennial Veterans Memorial Park Ceremony in Throggs Neck; the Morris Park Annual Memorial Day Service; Town of Pelham Memorial Day Parade; and the City Island Memorial Day Parade.
