Senator Jesse Hamilton, Assistant Speaker Felix Ortiz, Council Member Carlos Menchaca, and District Leader Arelis Martinez Co-Host “Know Your Rights Housing Forum” in Sunset Park

Community residents gather to learn about neighborhood services

and express concerns to elected officials

Brooklyn, NY – Last week Thursday, more than 150 neighborhood residents gathered for a housing forum co-hosted by Senator Hamilton, Assistant Speaker Ortiz, Council Member Menchaca, and District Leader Martinez at the Sunset Park Recreation Center. The “Know Your Rights Housing Forum” marked the fourth in a series of housing forums organized by Senator Hamilton in cooperation with elected officials across the 20^th Senate District; previous forums have been held in Crown Heights, East Flatbush, and Prospect-Lefferts Gardens.

City agencies and community groups were well represented at the forum. Partners who presented or tabled at the forum included: NYC Department of Finance, NYC Housing Preservation and Development, IDNYC, Brooklyn South Legal Services, the Pratt Area Community Council, and UPROSE.
