Continuing Senator Hamilton’s commitment to bring resources out into the community
(Brooklyn, NY – July 15, 2015) – Yesterday, Senator Jesse Hamilton hosted the second Summer at the Subway event at Franklin Ave/Botanic Garden. Summer at the Subway continues Senator Hamilton’s commitment to bringing the services and resources of the office out into the community. To that end, Senator Hamilton was joined by his constituent services team. The event also featured performances from the Brooklyn United Marching Band and Green Earth Poets Café poets. Every Tuesday in July, Senator Jesse Hamilton hosts a Summer at the Subway event at a different subway station in Central Brooklyn.
Senator Jesse Hamilton launched his Summer at the Subway series at Crown Heights-Utica with his 20th Senate District Office team on July 7, meeting more than fifty constituents who had an opportunity to share their concerns and receive assistance.
With regard to the second Summer at the Subway Senator event, Hamilton said, “Not everyone can make it to the District Office to share their concerns with us or receive information about community resources. That is why it is so important that we hold events in libraries, community centers, and at subway stations. I want to be sure that communities across Central Brooklyn know ‘serving you is what we do’ is our commitment. And I thank the community partners, Green Earth Poets Café, Brooklyn United Marching Band, artist Stephanie Kiah, and Q Soundz Stage Band, who help make these events a success.”
