(Brooklyn, N.Y. – June 24, 2015) – Senator Jesse Hamilton hosted a Senior Mobile Office at the Seth Low Community Center on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 11 am. This event lasted until 2 pm and provided seniors with many resources around the community and support for issues with housing, HEAP, SNAP, DRIE, EPIC, Medicaid, and other programs. Approximately forty people were in attendance of the event. More than twenty people were assisted with HEAP, air conditioner assistance requests, and many others were helped with issues that included Medicaid, employment, and housing. The Seth Low Community Center served lunch during the event.
The Senior Mobile Office continues to give seniors and others an opportunity to get resources and get linked up with agencies around their community. The event also gives seniors an opportunity to voice their concerns and to seek help from government agencies.
Senator Hamilton said, “The Senior Mobile office is part of my continuing commitment to bring services from the office out into the community. I am proud this Mobile Office was a great success – seniors learned about important resources in the community and utilized the opportunity to express their concerns.”
