Joined by Local Officials, Bonacic Announces $250,000 Grant for Goshen Historic Race Track

(Middletown, NY)- Senator Bonacic stood alongside local elected officials, as well as Steve Jones, President of the Goshen Historic Track at a press conference today to announce that he has secured a $250,000 capital grant for the track to make capital improvements on the facility. Senator Bonacic was also joined by Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus and  Village of Goshen Mayor Kyle Roddey. Senator Bonacic secured the funds through the New York State Economic Development Assistance Program (EDAP).

 “The Goshen Historic Track is one of the premier historic harness-racing tracks in North America, and these funds will go a long way towards making the necessary improvements at the facility to help ensure it remains that way,” said Senator Bonacic.

 “We  would like to thank Senator Bonacic and his staff for securing this much needed Capital Grant for Goshen Historic Track.  We consider this track the centerpiece of Goshen and Orange County, and this grant will go a long way towards shining up this jewel,” said Steve Jones, President of Goshen Historic Track.

 “The Goshen Historic Track is a part of the culture and fabric that makes up, not only Goshen, but Orange County,” said County Executive Neuhaus. “These funds will go to making much needed improvements to the facilities that the public will get to enjoy. I applaud Senator Bonacic for leading this initiative and I believe the community will greatly benefit from this grant.”

 Village of Goshen Mayor Kyle Roddey said: “The Historic Track is a centerpiece in Goshen, and represents the rich history of the local community. Its preservation is critical, and I thank Senator Bonacic for all his work on its behalf.”
