(Middletown, NY)-Senator Bonacic announced today that he has secured $5,000 in state aid for each of the 27 libraries in the 42nd Senate District. This aid is in addition to a $5 million increase in funding for libraries, secured by the legislature in the 2015-2016 state budget, over the level proposed by the Governor. Senator Bonacic successfully advocated to have this additional money included in the budget.
“Local libraries provide our communities with a strong foundation of educational opportunities, chances for adults and children to experience new technologies, and safe and quiet place to learn,” said Senator Bonacic. “I can’t think of a more appropriate institution to provide these funds too, and I am confident that this money will be put to good use.”
