Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan (2nd Senate District) was recently honored by the Suffolk Independent Living Organization (SILO) for his work on behalf of individuals with disabilities. SILO presented Senator Flanagan with a certificate during its event to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
In thanking Senator Flanagan, SILO stated that he has “honorably followed through on his ongoing commitment to the disabled community, which has led to increased state funding and enactment of critical legislation in these areas.”
“It is truly humbling to be recognized by the men and women of SILO. This is an issue that is very important to me and it is my pleasure to help SILO in any way possible to enhance the lives of everyone in our community. I want to thank SILO for this honor as well as for allowing me to play a role in their efforts on behalf of the disabled community,” stated Senator Flanagan.
