(Bronx, NY)- Senator Serrano applauded the groundbreaking of a new affordable residential building in his district. Settlement Housing Fund, New Settlement Apartments and their project partners celebrated the groundbreaking of their 18th residential development at New Settlement Apartments. This 60-unit energy efficient building on Walton Avenue in the Mt. Eden section of the Bronx will be affordable to low- and moderate-income families, including 9 who are homeless, and will include outdoor space as well as ground floor space for the neighboring New Settlement College Access Center.
"This building represents a tremendous opportunity for many families in New York City," said Senator Serrano. "I applaud NYS HCR and NYC HPD for completing this affordable, state-of-the-art 60-unit building on Walton Avenue and New Settlement for their ongoing commitment to affordability in our community. It is my hope that we can continue building affordable high quality housing like this across our city."
