Senator Serrano Joins Elected Officials in Black History Month Celebrations

(Bronx, NY)- In honor of Black History Month, Senator Serrano joined other elected officials at State Senator Ruben Diaz Sr.'s "African-American Abrazo" event. An enthusiastic crowd packed Maestro's Caterers in The Bronx for a celebration of Black History Month and an award ceremony honoring exemplary leaders in the community. This year's honorees included New York State Senator Senate Democratic Conference Leader, Andrea Stewart-Cousins.
"I was pleased to join many of my Bronxcolleagues in government at Senator Ruben Diaz's Abrazo African-American Black History Month Celebration," said Senator Serrano. "I am proud to be a part of honoring these incredible individuals in celebration of Black History Month. One of the distinguished honorees was none other than our New York State Senate Democratic Conference Leader ,Andrea Stewart-Cousins, a true trailblazer! I would like to congratulate all of the honorees for their remarkable contributions to society."
