Senator Serrano Pushes for Nail Salon Safety Legislation

(Bronx, NY)- Senator Serrano joined Governor Andrew M. Cuomo at Hostos Community College, as Governor Cuomo signed an important nail salon safety legislation into law. A large audience was in attendance for this important occasion, as we codified a new law to protect the health of workers who are employed in the nail salon industry.

"Far too often we see low wage workers, many of them immigrants, exploited and abused in the workplace," said Senator Serrano. "This law will ensure that nail salon workers are treated properly, while sending a strong message that state government will fight to strengthen worker's rights all across New York."
