(Bronx, NY)- Senator Serrano visited the Bronx Documentary Center for a tour of their site and exhibits. The Bronx Documentary Center was founded in 2011 and is a non-profit gallery and educational space. The Center displays local photography, film, and new media and has rotating exhibits focusing on the community. As the Senator frequently points out, local arts organizations add to our cultural fabric and act as an economic engine for the South Bronx. Senator Serrano is a long-time supporter of the arts and serves as the Ranking Member on the Senate Committee on Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks & Recreation.
"It was great visiting the site and meeting with the creative people at the Bronx Documentary Center," said Senator Serrano. "The Bronx Documentary Center is a great community resource for the South Bronx. As I've said before, the arts can have a transformative effect on the communities that need it the most."
