Howard Beach, NY (June 22, 2015) State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. is advising home owners who currently have applications pending with Build It Back to submit any paperwork needed to pursue funding as soon as possible.

After nearly three years, the Build It Back initiative, which was implemented in 2012 to assist New York City residents whose homes were damaged by Superstorm Sandy, will soon be coming to an end. The City has set June 30 as the final deadline for homeowners to submit the documentation required to receive funding assistance. Applicants who are awaiting a damage assessment with Build It Back must schedule it by the end of this month.

“As Build It Back starts to come to a partial close, it is now more important than ever that those who have already submitted their applications for this program take advantage of the help being offered,” said Addabbo. “The aftermath of Superstorm Sandy took a huge toll on the residents of New York City, and my constituents are among those who were hit hardest. This program has been a useful resource for homeowners trying to get back on their feet. If you previously registered with Build It Back but never continued with the process, now is the time to proceed. I urge you to act now and not miss your chance to receive the help and guidance that each and every person deserves.”

Any applicants who have not completed the full application and submitted their paperwork by June 30 will be removed from the program.

If you need assistance completing the Build It Back application process, please contact Senator Addabbo’s Howard Beach office at 718-738-1111 or his Rockaway Office at 718-318-0702.
