Senator Kathy Marchione invites you to Emergency Preparedness Training this Saturday (September 26) at Skidmore College

Kathleen A. Marchione

Dear Friend:

In an emergency, every second counts! To ensure that you and your family are prepared to respond to an emergency situation, please attend a Citizen Preparedness Corps Training Program that I am co-sponsoring with State and Saratoga County officials. The training will be held this coming Saturday, September 26, at 9:30 A.M., at Skidmore College’s Gannett Auditorium, located at 815 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. All attendees will need to pre-register for this training.

The training, which lasts approximately 90 minutes, will focus on responding to a natural or man-made disaster and feature guidance on properly preparing for a disaster, including developing a family emergency plan and stocking up on emergency supplies. Trainers will discuss which organizations can provide additional support, how to register for NY-Alert and be aware of notifications from the Emergency Broadcast System. Every family registered to attend the event will receive a State Disaster Preparedness Kit.

If you were unable to attend this training when it was offered back in August, then this coming Saturday is another opportunity to do so. These emergency preparedness training sessions are very popular and fill up quickly. To register for Saturday’s training, you can sign up at www.dhses.ny.gov/aware-prepare/nysprepare.

Sincerely,

Kathy Marchione

State Senator, 43rd District
