Senator Parker Calls for a Burn Unit in Brooklyn in Letter to Mayor de Blasio

Brooklyn, NY – Senator Kevin Parker (SD21) is calling for the immediate establishment of a burn unit in Brooklyn. Noting that Brooklyn is the fourth largest community in America and the most populous of all Boroughs in the City of New York, Senator Parker said "not having a burn unit to address the potential of permanent injuries and possible fatalities resulting from burns not treated with urgency, is unconscionable."

The Brooklyn lawmaker’s request was addressed in a letter to Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, Mayor Bill de Blasio, Congresswoman Yvette Clarke, Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, and 12 Brooklyn legislators.
