Sending a “Cease and Desist” Letter to the President of the Board, Wrong Message to Send the People of the Kenmore-Tonawanda School District
BUFFALO, N.Y. – Senator Marc Panepinto released the following statement on the urgent letter he has sent to Governor Cuomo and the State Education Department:
“As a newly elected official representing the 60th Senate District, protecting and improving the quality of public education has been one of my top priorities. Over my first few months in office, I have seen parents, teachers, and other key stakeholders grow in their anxiety over the future of our children’s educational success. One thing is clear – they are being ignored, and have not been heard. The increased rhetoric towards the Kenmore-Tonawanda School District on the eve of adopting the state budget deserves to be called out for what it is; reckless threats and intimidation. As I have written in my letter, we need to find common ground and end the threatening tone that has taken the place of constructive dialogue. I stand with my community and ask that the State Education Department and Governor’s office work with us to make this possible.”
