At 1:30p.m. today, Senator Marc Panepinto was sworn into office at the Erie County Clerk’s Office, Supreme Court Room. In a ceremony in front of over two hundred supporters – which included elected officials, labor leaders, small business owners, community leaders, friends and family – Senator Panepinto spoke about his call to public service, his commitment to serving working families, and his eagerness to hit the ground running in Albany.
“I am going to take on issues that matter to the people of Western New York. When it comes to jobs and economic development, I will fight to make the minimum wage a living wage. When it comes to social justice, I will fight to finally pass the full Women’s Equality Agenda. When it comes to our public schools, I'll stand up to the special interests trying to undermine our public schools and make sure our kids are given the tools they need to succeed. Whatever the issue may be, I believe that we need a government that is accountable to the people of this state and that is how I will lead my first term in public office.” – Senator Marc Panepinto
Among the crowd of supporters were the following dignitaries:
Mayor Byron Brown
